Poetry for Every Situation.
I have always loved writing and especially poetry. Since I was a child on the farm, I would see something and instantly start putting it to words. Many times those words rhymed and other times they became part of my internal novel that never made its way on paper. I went to college and received my business degree and had a very successful career in the healthcare industry. Over the years i would write plays for church or poems for family and friend’s milestones but never truly considered taking it seriously.
One night at our favorite local restaurant, where we have standing reservations, I wrote about what was happening right then and included everyone there since we were all regulars and share a pretty good sense of humor. I refer to it as "situational poetry" since it really is about the current situation. I was stunned when situational poetry took off like gangbusters and I now get requests to write for events and parties where the topics can range from serious to the humorous. Honestly, there is always humor and quite a bit of snark but one thing is for sure it is all from the heart. I am also working on getting that internal novel down on paper which has become a true labor of love.
